K.C. is Of Counsel with Slattery, Sobel & DeCamp, LLP. His practice focuses on all areas of complex civil litigation including insurance bad faith, corporate litigation, consumer class action, environmental, products liability, catastrophic injury, toxic tort, mass tort, breach of contract and commercial litigation. Mr. Swisher has defended and prosecuted high profile, multi-million dollar claims spanning jurisdictions across the nation. His diverse experience in the class action/mass torts arena includes claims arising from alleged systemic denial of insurance benefits, landlord/tenant litigation involving claims brought by more than 100 plaintiffs, personal injury claims brought by hundreds of plaintiffs following a product recall and claims forwarded by dozens of plaintiffs arising from mold and asbestos exposures in commercial buildings. K.C. was chosen to serve on the Defendant’s Executive Committee in the multi-district litigation matter of In Re Hydroxycut Marketing and Sales Practices and has been appointed by courts and elected by peers to serve as defendants’ liaison counsel in several high exposure mass tort cases. Mr. Swisher also serves as general counsel for a number of companies throughout California.
His extensive environmental and toxic tort experience includes litigation of CERCLA, Proposition 65, construction, air quality, water quality, benzene, asbestos, mold, and carbon black cases. He has represented clients before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts throughout California, from pre-litigation through verdict and appeal. Through countless dismissals and winning dispositive motions, Mr. Swisher has successfully defended hundreds of cases on behalf of his clients, obtaining fast results without the need to incur the costs associated with trial. However, for those cases that must be tried, Mr. Swisher has extensive courtroom experience, obtaining several favorable verdicts on behalf of his clients.
K.C. was a three-time nominee for the San Diego Daily Transcript’s Young Attorney award and was recently nominated for the Daily Transcript’s Top Attorneys award in the field of Personal Injury. The Top Attorneys award recognizes the best attorneys in San Diego County in various legal fields. He has also been selected as a Super Lawyers Rising Star® in the field of Class Actions/Mass Torts.
K.C. obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Utah. He obtained his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University, where he graduate with honors. While studying at Pepperdine, he was the Regional Mock Trial Champion (for the region of Southern California, Arizona and Utah), won 1st Place at the San Diego Defense Lawyers Mock Trial competition, received Am Jur awards in Legal Research and Writing and Legal History and was selected for the prestigious Order of the Barristers.
K.C. is a member of the State Bar of California, licensed to practice in state and federal courts in California.
